Architects Of Life
As a recipient of second chance, I believe that everyone deserves a second or even third chance in life. With the support of my mentors, I have managed to transform my life, and I use my story to let young people know that they too are capable of great things in life, regardless of how bad they think their life is. AOL was incorporated in 2014. It exists to be ‘ life-architects’ in building a world-ready generation! AOL has been impacting the lives of the youth through mentorship and coaching. Our philosophy is “Every individual a success story to be written’ .
AOL employs transformative concepts and strategies to design outreach, developmental and intervention programs to work with young people. Our programs are guided by current evidence-based literature and studies. Probably what makes AOL stand out is our niche in working with ‘ Youth on the Fringe’ . We specialises in reaching out to offending prone youngsters, juvenile delinquents, troubled teens and at-risk youth. We believe each youth has the potential to be outstanding role models in society. As such, our objectives and programs are not designed to just keep them managed, but empower them to be leaders, moving them from high-risk to high-yield
We did a public speaking program for a group of boys from the Singapore Boys’ Home in April, and we told them there would be a speech contest at the last session. The boys felt that it was impossible for them to stand in front of an audience to deliver a speech. With the guidance of their coaches, all the boys exceeded their own expectation. I was proud to see them overcome their fear of public speaking to give a short 3-minute speech on their dreams and aspirations!
Innovating new ideas to drive AOL programs, and ways to deliver greater value to our partners and youth. I recognize there will always be environmental limitations/challenges that are not within my control (e.g. systems constraint, lack of understanding of AOL work). I’ ve learnt to deal with those challenges by identifying the problem, and re-strategize my approaches
AOL’ s work is about planting seed. My vision is to see the youth whom we have worked with, actively contribute to the betterment of others and society.
